30/4/20

Thursday 30th April:

This morning I started getting my vege brownie ready for Koka Wendy to collect along with other peoples. After I finished getting it ready I decided to go onto steps web to do some spelling for the day. While I was doing steps Koka wendy pulled up to my house with all her gear on and was dropping off items from a few weeks before and also to pick up my vege brownies! After finishing one of my assignments on steps it was morning tea and I called my cousin to talk because we had planned to call earlier but my schedule got in the way. After we finished the call I finished eating lunch then I went online to do mathletics since i couldn't go on money time.

Phantom of Terawhiti Chapter review: chapter 6-7

In chapter 6 and 7:
Zac had heard a calling coming from nearby and then suddenly and two men came out of the bush they were short and round men and one of them were carrying a gun. One of the two men had asked zac what was he doing there because they were security guards zac explained to them that he lived on the farm so the two men allowed him to stay. Both of the men were russian and the one holding the gun decided to point it at Zac and asked if he had seen a music box that belonged to his leader the russian billionaire and then Zac asked why the man would need a music box made for kids. The russian man said that the billionaire liked the sound. Out of the blue Will and Jess pulled up behind Zac the man moved his gun to William. William then explained he did the fencing on the Terawhiti station. He then took Zac into his truck for them to go eat lunch by the ocean. When they were sitting Zac noticed Jess was sitting closer to him rather than her father. Later he went home and and Crawford was a bit annoyed and Zac asked him a question and Crawford yelled at him. Zac decided to head up to his room later Crawford said sorry.

On Tuesday I continued editing my Tupaea writing adding more detail so it looked nicer, and was a better representation of my writing. While I was editing I also added in illustrations of Tupaea.
Tupaia | New Zealand Geographic

Wednesday & Thursday:
On Wednesday and Thursday we did Maths and PE. For Maths I did Mathletics and Moneytime. I enjoyed doing money time because at my old school we were doing money time on paper and not online. For PE I did Rowing Machine and Exercycle while catching a Netball.

Friday:
On Friday I was doing crafts for ANZAC day which was held on Saturday. Some of the crafts included making Lanterns with jars that had drawings of ANZAC soldiers on them. We also did poppys on transparent paper.

Monday

Monday continued book review of the phantom of Terawhiti:

Chapter 1:
Crawford and Zac were exploring the most boring place in NZ placed at the bottom of the North Island as Zac explains it. There they were finding more information for Crawfords book about Natural Disasters that have happened in the past in Aotearoa by heading to a wind farm.

Chapter 2:
Whilst at the wind farm they spot the wreck of the Anastasia yacht owned by the Russian Billionaire Mikhail Popanovs.

Chapter 3:
They were heading down to the wreak to see if there were any survivors that needed help at the wreak. Zac decided to salvaging for items in the wreak and then Zac found a silver dog bowl with gold lettering Tasha printed onto it. Then Will and Jess appear later in chapter 3.

Chapter 4:
They are at the homestead Crawfords working on his book. While Zac was looking up more information on the russian billionaire. the news reporters interviewed and showed footage of the wreak and there were 5 sailors onboard and were rescued but no mention of a animal. Zac started researching the billionaires Animals. He also found out the billionaire was fascinated by wolves so he suspected the animal was a wolf not a dog that was onboard. There was also was a legend that a dog went wild on the farm a while ago and it was named after that the Terawhiti ghost.

Chapter 5:
Zac continued searching for the 'supposed' animal off the Anastasia and decided to go looking in a cave near by the ship wreak. When he walked in the cave he heard a loud roar and started backing up and fell onto his back. Out from the shadows came a male seal came over and scared him outside of the cave. Once he got out he went for lunch and settled down in a valley and heard rustling in a nearby bush. He thought he found Tasha so he went closer to the bush and started calling Tasha's name. A spotted white body sprinted out of the bush and up the hill and Zac followed the body when he got up there he spotted a pistol lying next to a box of ammo on a truck on the north side of the hill.

My Week 1 of Term 2 was pretty standard I mainly did Maths, Reading, Writing, PE along with Arts and Baking. For Maths I was doing Mathletics and started my moneytime account, which was fun for me and my mother. For Reading I continued reading the book my teacher gave me, as well as doing chapter reviews on my blog, and sharing what happened in the story to my parents. For Writing I was editing my Tupaea piece of writing to make it more detailed, so it looks like it was actually published and so it can go on the wall. PE I was doing cardio workouts and going on my exercycle and the rowing machine. My least favourite exercise was planking and what I enjoyed was the Dumbell exercise.  For Art I was drawing Anime characters, sketching and colouring shown at the bottom. Baking we made red velvet cupcakes.

Hello my names Nikita I have been on Quarantine for the past 4 weeks and I am one of the many people in the world that's in Quarantine... The positives of Quarantine are Not being late to anything not needing to get on the bus in the morning and spending more time with family. Not being late to anything is a huge relief to me because of all the afterschool activities I use to do now all I need to worry about is being on time for online school and being ready for Online St John since that's one of my afterschool activities I am doing. Not getting on the bus in mornings because I don't need to wake up at 6:30 am and leaving to my friends at 7:30 in the morning. And spending more time with my family is fun because I actually am spending more time with my Mother/My Homeschool teacher!

The downs are doing School work inside my house because it has been a weird experience, in the mornings I use to dread going to school and for me my house was like the only place I got to rest from all the school work throughout the day but now all I want to do is leave my new prison cell and go to school I am going insane! And just like many other kids I had a fun social life where I would hang out with my friends at school but now, i've just been having calls coming through 24/7 so I hardly get a break anymore! All i'm doing nowadays is wake up, Get ready, Do school, Finish school, Have some free time, Bed and then repeat.

So Quarantine is fun but there is some downsides I am looking forward to school restarting but am also happy I get to spend more time with my family at home.

Term One at Gisint

My Highlights of Term 1 @ Gis Int

My highlights from term one 2020 consist of Camp, Getting year 7 Student of the week and making new friends. Going to Camp was fun because it was my second school camp ever and I got to jump off the wharf, climb up cooks cove and watch the sunrise and going biscuiting in the river also sharing a tent with my friends. Getting Student of the week was exciting moment for me because it showed me how hard I worked so far in the year. Making new friends was also really fun because I met people from other schools rather than sticking with kids from my old school.
