In todays session and last weeks session of Manaiakalani we have been learning how to animate profiles to use on our blogs once we have finished.  Also in the session we were learning what information we should keep private and what we can share online. One thing I found mainly surprising was not to share your address on social media, not because I do but because I thought it would be common knowledge not to share those things. I haven't learnt anything new in the past two sessions because I have done these things before but I have acted upon  my feedback and feel like I made a better version than last time. And I want people to think of me as a creative person. 

Longest word in Maori...

Today for Te reo Maori I learnt how to enunciate some maori words. I also learnt the longest word in Maori which is:

Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupakaiwhenuakitanatahu

Today we also had to write the tauparapara we have been learning which is:

Ko Rongomatane, Ko rongotahuahua Te ara mana ake, Ko Rongotaketake, Te ara mana rite, Ko Rongomaarua, Te ara ahua ake, Te ara ahua ake, Ko Rongotaheke, Te ara matua, Maru mai ra... Taku Mana.

After morning tea we started Maths. In maths I finished off my Practice book assignments so I could continue on my Course book

After Lunch time we went to start Manaiakalani and learnt to make positive comments on peoples blogs

Getting closer

Today we were assigned for Reading to act like News Reporters and write a report on the Ōrokonui Ecosanctuary and what were our thoughts on it the criteria is:
READ this article about the Ōrokonui Ecosanctuary.
WATCH the video provided and take additional notes for your writing.
WRITE a news article about the Ōrokonui Ecosanctuary.
REMEMBER to answer the WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN in the first 2 sentences, then add further information.
PUBLISH your written article on your BLOG!

What I found challenging was how to present my writing because Im not a news reporter. What I found fun was finding the information for the writing.

STEPWeb-It!

For the next wero challenge in my class we had to spend one full hour on steps to show we have done this we had to take a screenshot of when we jumped on to when we finished our hour of steps. In the past hour of doing steps I completed an entire assignment. What I like about my steps task is that it opens up words I can use in it but it also shows me how to spell the words correctly and the meaning. It also tests to see my understanding of the words being used in the sets. My favourite task I have t do in them is the spelling bit because then it tests to see if I can spell the words correctly. What tasks I dislike are the word grid task and the treasure hunt because it takes up a good amount of your memory to complete it. Another reason why I dislike it because they present the words in front of me around every 0.5 seconds which gets annoying when they give me around 10 words to remember. 

Math Maintenence

Today I was doing some math maintenance for my maths group Whanui. During this some of the questions we had to answer were in the categories: Multiply, Division, Fractions and percentages and Square roots/Factors 

What I found easy was the fractions converted to Percentages questions. What I found hard was the factors one just because I don't have much experience in Factors.

In this task I didn't do much working out with the questions the only question I did quite a bit of working out with was the factors one because I had to figure out the factors of the number 64 which the factors are 1,2,4,8,16,32,64.

What I was doing yesterday - I started off my day with calling my teacher in the call we were talking about what we are doing for the next week or so. What I was looking forward to after the call finished is the fact that we get to a 'day in the life of me vlog' which I think will be interesting because we have to record what we do. What i'm not really looking forward to is the fact I have to record some of my conversation with my online friend and other real friends (I do have real friends by the way).After we finished the call I was really motivated to do some mathletics so I got more points and did more activities than I usually do in a day. Once I got bored of mathletics I decided to do some coding which wasn't assigned but I really enjoy doing that stuff to do some coding I went onto the website hour of code and did a minecraft coding game. I finished the coding game in around 20 minutes with it including codes like making your character build a mini house. After I decided I had enough of coding I went on to make lunch for me and my sister which I enjoy because it's one of the things I get to do without being disturbed with. I then went onto the sims 4 while eating lunch to do something I can enjoy in free time. Later my cousins came over and we went on to playing games.

What I did today was go onto my class call today we did two kahoots the first ones topic was decades of dance the second ones topic was New Zealand cities. In the first kahoot I was awarded 1st place in the second kahoot I was awarded 3rd place. After we finished our kahoots we were catching up the people who weren't on yesterday once everyone was caught up Koka wendy asked if three of the people online could stay on to have a private conversation. After we fully finished I went on to do Mathletics and Money time.  Started task diary and hazard around home for Home Tech Badge for St John cadets.

So I started the day off with a call and being told we had to learn our Pepeha then heading onto steps and working on one of my assigned tasks which was called e-e words with words like: these, theme. Next I started working on Mathletics completing the fractions area and getting a better understanding of adding and subtracting fractions. Next I joined my class call and we started recapping what we talked about in the morning. And then my mother made me do my reading for my blog post.

Today I started with my call which we talked about doing our pepeha again for the people who were not online for yesterday's call. After we finished the call I decided to go outside for 10 minutes but then decided after 5 minutes it's time to go back inside.after returning inside I had to go onto my maths call with my maths group Whanui to do Prime work. I then started painting some plaster sculptures. Then I went on to our afternoon call and we talked about the same stuff as we did this morning.

Chapter review of Phantom of Terawhiti chapter 8:

In chapter 8 Jess and Zac were talking about the animal he saw and he told Jess that he thought the creature was an albino cheetah and he told her the cheetahs name is Tasha because that's what the russians in the last chapters were calling out. Jess asked if had the music box yet and then they decided to go biking back to the place and then the russians were there and got annoyed because they lied to them. Then the russians grabbed Zac and he told Jess to run Jess then jumped on the bike then biked away but then the russians started following her in their truck leaving Zac behind. Jess decided to lead them to the quicksand on the beach and then they drove onto it not knowing and then their wheels started sinking. The car then got stuck and the russians couldn't get out because of the quicksand.
