Piskel Maker

 Today we were working on a piskel to later import into our Mihi Maker game (A few posts below). What I really enjoyed was seeing the finished project. Most of the time I found it challenging to draw but once I got the head shape under control the I found the rest of the body pretty easy. I decided to put the most used expression which lead to a conversation about how it was hard for my friends to figure out if I was sarcastic or not. My next steps will be to upload it to my Mihi Maker and make the main character running me. I would definitely recommend this to other students to try.  

Takaro

Today two girls from hub Mako came into Manawanui and taught us how to play takaro. Takaro is a game where you are given a card with multiple pictures and the rest will be in the middle, if you have a matching picture then you have to say the maori name for it and put it at the top of your pile and you continue doing that until you use all cards in the middle. 

Mihi Maker!

 Today we were making a game based on our pepeha. I enjoyed it because it was apart of my culture. One thing I didn't like was how I had to help my friends most of the time and got ten minutes to finish it. At the beginning I found it a little difficult but after a while I figured out what to do. Otherwise would definitely recommend this to other kids and would do it again.

Mahi Tracker

 Last week we were working on our Class Mahi Tracker, updating it every day for the teachers so they have the information.

Creative drawing

 

Today we were assigned the task to make a drawing that only includes the tools Polyline and Curve. What I struggled with was using curve since I usually use shapes. One thing I found easy was using polyline. A thing I like was how I got to interpret something that I am passionate about.  One thing I will do differently is try a bit more on the curve to so it looks natural.

Copyright challenge

 Today we were assigned a copyright challenge and I found making the music easy and importing the audio easy. I really enjoyed letting myself be creative. Next time I will talk to my friends less. And what I found challenging was trying out a new site i'm not familiar with.
